Nebraska Recreation & Park Association Awards Scholarships

The Nebraska Recreation and Park Association Scholarship has been awarded to Alena Carlson.  Alena studied with the University of Nebraska – Kearney; completed an Internship with Victoria Springs State Recreation Area and is now employed with Off Broadway Assisted & Independent Living in Broken Bow, Nebraska

The Joseph A Churchich Scholarship is awarded to Michael Steel  The Joseph A Churchich Scholarship recognizes the lifelong work of Joseph A Churchich in parks and recreation for the City of Omaha, where he served for forty years.  Michael is a member of the University of Nebraska at Kearney Recreation Club and Nebraska Recreation & Park Association. He is scheduled to graduate with a degree in Recreation Management in May 2023

The Ruth B. McClintock Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Emma Ziemba. The Ruth B McClintock Memorial Scholarship was established by Ralph McClintock, the Superintendent of Parks in Omaha for many years.  One of the founding fathers of NeRPA, he established the Ruth McClintock Scholarship as a memorial to his spouse.  Emma is a member of the University of Nebraska at Kearney Recreation Club, Wildlife Club as well as involved with UNL Intramurals
